‘DUFT’ is the German word for aroma or scent. They pronounce it “dOO-Ft” we shall pronounce it like North Americans: think duffle bag or that cartoon beer.. For this inner-basketweave we are reaching back to ‘Gland Gains’. Specifically the #34 grape-candy flower cut of Gland Gains. #34 is the LARGE gland genotype. If you’re thinking “uhh what?!” This was an attempt to breed across the washability trait, knowing genetics meet in the middle. Think of it as a spectrum with super-dumper to one side and flower-only to the other.. by selecting and mixing the genetics across both ends of the spectrum we’re targeting an average of washing pretty well, with the hope of retaining the wetness we associate with monoterpenes like myrcene. Another reason for selecting Gland Gains was to highlight the fresh dirt flavors in ‘Diamond Glands’ since we could foresee a good mix with Marang’s underlying gas flavors. The result was better than anticipated. Deep cavernous moist OG earth flavors that would sometimes become cedar or men’s cologne. The #34’s grape candy can show up and wash really well. One of the grape candy phenos didn’t wash well like the mom selected. SO.. please test wash if you are picking a keeper and know grape candy is a clue it might not wash. Most test washed average, to above average. Again, test wash for keepers. On the flip side if you’ve ever wanted a flower genetic from us the Grape Candy translates to flower well and commonly gets compliments for the flavor. We did find multi-gland trait present in this hybrid, showing the markers for multis are hiding in the genetics of ‘Gland Gains’ regardless of genotype selected. Dry sandy yet greasy glands were also found, weakneck trait is in tow as well. Our greasy keeper washes rather average but has mouth watering kush flavors.
